Toxics Release Inventory (TRI)
The Toxics Release Inventory (TRI) is a publicly available EPA database that contains information on toxic chemical releases and waste management activities reported annually by certain industries as well as federal facilities.

TRI Information is now a searchable field on the ECHO Multimedia, Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, and Hazardous Waste searches.
To access TRI information, browse to one of the search form listed above, and scroll towards the bottom of the search form until you reach the heading "Chemical Releases".

The TRI selection options will vary based on media, the options are listed below with the media they relate to in parentheses.
- TRI Reporter (Multimedia, Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, Hazardous Waste) – Narrows search to facilites that were either TRI reporters or not TRI reporters.
- TRI On-Site Chemical Releases (Multimedia) – Narrows search to return facilities that had On-Site TRI releases.
- TRI Off-Site Chemical Transfers (Multimedia) – Narrows search to return facilities that had Off-Site TRI transfers.
- TRI Release Category (2007) & Release Amount (Clean Air Act) – Limits returned results based on TRI Release Category and Release Amout.
- TRI Direct Water Discharges (Clean Water Act) – Only facilities that discharged directly to water will be returned.
- TRI POTW Transfers (Clean Water Act) – Publicly Owned Treatment Works (POTWs)
- TRI On-site Land Releases (Hazardous Waste) – Narrows facility results to those that had TRI releases directly to land.
All TRI Releases listed in the search results are total TRI release, both On-Site and Off-Site. In order to see the results broken out, drill into a facility by clicking on its facility name. The red circle on the left hand side of the screenshot corresponds with where facility names are located.

To see the TRI releases for a facility, scroll down the Detailed Facility Report to the the "TRI History of Reported Chemicals Released in Pounds per Year" and "TRI Total Releases and Transfers by Chemical and Year" sections.

National Emissions Inventory (NEI)
EPA's National Emission Inventory (NEI) database contains information about sources that emit criteria air pollutants and their precursors, and hazardous air pollutants. The database includes estimates of annual air pollutant emissions from point, nonpoint, and mobile sources in the 50 States, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands. EPA collects information about sources and releases an updated version of the NEI database every three years.

NEI Information is now a searchable field on the ECHO Clean Air Act search.
To access NEI information, browse to one of the search form, and scroll towards the bottom of the search form until you reach the heading "Chemical Releases". No NEI information will be returned unless a user selects one of the available NEI categories.

When you select an NEI category from the Clean Air Act search form, an NEI column will return on the right hand side of the results table. This column will list any NEI releases pertaining to the specified facility.
